Getting started
Create your account, join an organization, and publish your first layer.
Getting started with HarnessTap Cloud
This guide walks through signup, optional organization setup, and publishing your first layer from the catalog.
Create an account
Visit /signup to create a HarnessTap Cloud account. You can register with:
- Email and password — verify your email before org writes are enabled
- Google OAuth — sign in with your Google workspace account
- GitHub OAuth — sign in with your GitHub identity
Existing users can sign in at /login.
Email verification
New email sign-ups must verify their address before creating organizations or publishing layers. OAuth sign-ups skip the separate verification step when the provider has already confirmed your identity.
Create or join an organization
After sign-in, HarnessTap lands you on /dashboard. You can explore the app shell immediately — organization setup is optional.
When you are ready:
- Create an organization — open /onboarding and become the owner of a new organization
- Accept an invitation — review pending invites on the organization hub and join an existing team in-app
Users can belong to multiple organizations and switch between them in the web UI and CLI. Skip organization setup anytime; the sidebar card reappears if a new invite arrives later.
Publish your first layer
When your active organization has zero published layers, the sidebar shows an activation checkpoint with links to:
- /catalogs/default/new — create a layer in the default catalog
- /catalogs/default/import — import an exported bundle and publish version one
Empty catalog pages link to the same routes. Once the organization has at least one published layer, /catalogs is the home for browsing and managing harness bundles.
Free tier limits
The free (Personal) plan includes:
- Up to 3 collaborators per organization
- Up to 10 private layers
- 5 MB maximum published bundle size
See /pricing for Pro and Enterprise limits when your team outgrows the starter tier.
